The Ark is a local charity supporting people with disabilities and long-term health conditions, unpaid and family carers and the wider community.

Volunteers have always played an important part in the delivery of our services and projects but during COVID-19 this went to a whole other level! Our HIVE projects include a community response volunteer network, supporting local people through tasks such as shopping, dog walking, pharmacy deliveries and community transport as well as vaccine volunteers who have, given 35,000 hours of their time (and growing) to support the local vaccination programme.

If you would like to volunteer with us all you will need is some enthusiasm and a desire to make a difference and support people in your local community.

You can choose how much time you dedicate; we have volunteers with regular weekly shifts and others who fit in shifts as and when they can around the other commitments in their life.
